A combination of not having anything monumental to say, as well as not feeling like spending the time to say anything, plus being "busy" relaxing and winding down, along with not having bothered updating my webpage.... has kept me from posting here.
But I totally follow my own rule by having art to post this time. Because I updated my webpage. Check it out!

I had a delightful time at Arisia this year. I didn't worry about trying to sell art, which helped (although it would have been nice if something sold). I'm glad I made a decision to stop going crazy over my paintings and make my new dress. It was a stress all on its own, and took way longer to complete than I'd imagined it would, but it turned out. There are parts I'd like to fix, but don't know if I ever will.
I attended fun panels, got to see the Buffy Musical, got to dance! in my fabulous ballgown, won awards for both my gown and my art (good for my self confidence), and smiled a bunch. The extended weekend worked out reasonably well, I think. Monday seemed mostly useless, but the extension of Sunday made a big difference.

I visited Maryland in the beginning of February with Mercutio. I really, really... really needed the vacation. I sat around, I read books, I slept in super late, I played games, and generally didn't do anything productive. I came home with a terrible leg cramp from the car ride, but oh what a week.

I tried to start out my next month doing nothing but playing videogames and reading. The reading worked, but the only games I want to play won't work unless I get a better computer... so they'll wait.

And I've started painting big and fast. Well, start as in I did two, and I have a good way to go until this really helps my regular painting, but it's a good step. I take way too long to paint something really teeeny. And I'm not using the full potential of oil paints. I'm teaching myself to lay down better underpaintings, fast, and bigger. I don't let myself use a small brush, only big! I wouldn't call them nice finished works, but this will work to my benefit..... soon. And you can see 'em on my webpage.

So now I've got a handful of projects all floating around my head to get out (it makes it hard to fall asleep sometimes). I have painting practice to do, eventual completion of my stuffed dragon paintings, new pants for myself, a dress for a friend, ideas for my next hoopskirt dress, and, pants for friends. Why do I let myself have so many projects? Well, most of this has no deadline. Stuff to do in the next year. But a year seems so short these days... Speaking of pants for friends, I have a handful who want some. If you want some, too, get in line.
