Musings. Expression. Getting it out there.
No new pictures of art, 'cause my computer's still out of commission. But I'm definitely painting!
I've currently resigned myself to not finishing my series of four before Arisia. I'll frame them and show them as works in progress, almost completed, but I wasn't planning on selling them this year anyways (mostly due to the inconvenience of them not being varnishable for a while). So while weighing the importance of things-to-do-with-my-time, and taking into consideration that Arisia is supposed to be fun, I've come to the conclusion that I will have more fun if I sew myself at least one of the dresses I was planning, rather than stress over the paintings.
They'll be close to done. Infact, most people probably won't really notice (or at least I'll just keep telling myself that, given that people seem to think they're done *now* and yet I've barely begun the dragons scales!).
Who knows, if the first dress goes quickly, I may even still do the second one. But I won't hold too many hopes. I only want to complete the dragon scales at this point (at least one of the backgrounds is only roughed in, another still needing some touchup, and a handful of the stuffed dragons still needing to be fluffed up more), but I keep underestimating how long they'll take. I've got what.. 7 weeks? Two for each dress and three to scale the rest of the dragons? But I forget to take into account random evenings in which I have a headache, or otherwise don't end up painting (it *is* good to have a relaxing evening reading now and then). Whatever happens, I'll have fun at Arisia.
After Arisia, I will go clothing shopping. Sew another dress if I don't finish the second one I'm planning before Arisia. Take a small vacation in Maryland. Sew myself some more clothes. And then take a few commissions for clothes from a couple friends who have expressed interest. And at some point maybe poke some t-shirt design ideas.
