    Siddharta
Some years back when I still read 3D Total a bunch, they posted links to some nifty music videos for a Slovenian rock band, Siddharta. The videos were awesome from an animation standpoint, and I really enjoyed the music too (the two linked were "My Dice" and "Napoj"). I've gone back to their site regularly over the years to listen to some of the music via watching the music videos, as for a long time there didn't seem to be a good way to import their CDs, and there wasn't another way to listen to their songs. I overplay those two I originally heard, as well as "Rave", "Male Roke" and some others.
When I last checked their CD import prices, I stumbled upon their MP3s for download (finally) on Amazon! But it's Amazon.co.uk! ...Which means I can't buy them. I think it's rather silly.
So I'm stuck deciding if I should pay an outrageous amount to import and album or two or wait out their MP3 availability. Like many bands, I enjoy a few songs from one album and a few from another. Buying songs individually would be ideal.
Backup plan, I convince one of my UK friends to buy them for me. ;p

If you like rock music, check 'em out (especially if foreign languages is a plus).

    Printy print?
I think I'm going to proceed like this: Big 10x16 prints unmatted - 10 copies each (but 15 of red), small 8x6.25 prints matted to 11x14 - 15 each (20 of red). I think this seems doable?
I haven't decided how I want 'em matted. When I was doing my last prints, I thought it'd be cool to leave in the edges of the paper under the mat, and you could look under and see them. So the signature is on both the print and the mat, so the numbering and title would show. Mat closed / Mat open
I could do that style again, or I could do what I've seen other artists do by leaving a small (say 1/4") border of paper beyond the image with room to sign print and not bother unnecessarily signing mat too. Exhibit B
    Opinions?

Damnit, who was I talking to at Jake's party who said they knew a good place to purchase stainless steel rings?

In other news, who is going to PiCon this year and would like to split a room many ways, in which I can share a bed (only with someone who's the right kind of friend..) or sleep in a cot cheaply?

    Printy print!
I'm making prints of my dragons! I haven't decided how many to do, yet, though. I'm going to do some at 10x16 (actual size [but it seems much bigger to me])unmatted, and some at 10x6.25 matted to fit in 14x11 frames.
I was originally thinking of doing 15 each, like last time, but assuming these might actually sell, unlike last time. But maybe only 10 each of the big ones, might be better, so I don't end up with too many? And maybe it would make sense to make more of the red dragon than the other ones, knowing people like him more?

I still have a bunch of color correction to do, and do my first trial large format print to make sure 266 dpi will be sufficient (I'd been hoping for 288), or if I'll need to do a reshoot.
Once I have all my prints make, I need to pop by my local post office and get info about shipping rates, and then I can start that Etsy store I've been planning. I'm also gonna have t-shirts!

    Sarah's Sketchblog
So, I started a sketchblog on my own website: Sketchblog! Check it out. :)
I think I'll try and post at least weekly, if not more.
Steve and I are still working out the bugs, and tweaking the layout. I want the thumbnails for previous entries to be up on the right if I can, for example.

    On Books and Drawing
I've been reading a bunch lately. I was on a British author kick for a while, between Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, and Douglas Adams.
Douglas Adams co-wrote a book I think you all should read. It's called "Last Chance to See". I originally learned about it because I heard a recording of talk he gave in Germany some years back where he read some excerpts from it. It's about traveling to visit endangered animals around the world. Douglas Adams has such a way with words (and somehow ends up having astonishing transit shenanigans), that it kept me laughing out loud and dumbfounded throughout.
I've also discovered Larry Niven. I'd read "Ringworld" some years back, and am now diving into Mercutio's collection of books. First I devoured "Three Books of Known Space", and then "Flatlander". That one I particularly enjoyed, as it brought together my two favorite novel-types. Scifi(/fantasy) and detective. I can't believe I hadn't read it before now. After starting to read the next novel I came across, which was a collection of excerpts from other books, I became ensnared by pieces of "Lucifer's Hammer" and switched to that book (which, luckily, Merc also had). I couldn't put it down, most of the time. It's set about when it was written, in the 70's, and covers the lives of an array of people living through (or not) the discovery of a nearby comet and having it later impact the earth. Now I'm reading "Destiny's Road".

I've been making myself draw more. While I'm not trying to draw every night, I'm trying to most nights. I became addicted to a new sketchbook a couple months ago with perfect midtoned paper, not too textured, that allows me to drop in both shadows and highlights.
I'm thinking of starting a sketch blog, to help encourage me to keep up drawing. It might make sense to simply integrate something with my webpage's sketch section. I'll have to look into different blogging software out there to see what will work best (Steve may already have something implemented in his server I can just make use of). Or I'll just end up manually making new pages.
I also may start going to some of CCAE's Sunday morning life models. 9:30-1:30, $11. Anyone want to join me? I won't go too frequently. Maybe once a month, like Dr Sketchy's, or less. The poses only go from one minute to 15 minutes I think, though, which isn't as long as I'd prefer.

Unneccessarily lengthy recap of my weekend hanging out with illustrators from TOR Books
I had a... mindblowing weekend. I went to Boskone after work Friday ... )

Okay, there, I got it all out. (and with less squeaking than Katie and Bruce Campbell)

And now I just have this driving need to be painting. I'm working on sketches for a painting inspired by Lucifer's Hammer that came into my mind while I was unable to sleep some night last week. And I got a cheap canvas pad to work on sketching/painting some portraits as further practice to loosen up my hand.
I should, soon, have the small archival printer I've been lusting after for a year. And might possibly end up showing some work at Pandemonium books in the future.
Val's trying to convince me to go to WorldCon in Montreal this year, but I don't think I can afford the hotel stay for so long (and still buy food and enjoy a short vacation). Who knows? I'm already planning to attend PiCon, but who knows if, among my painting, I'll find the time/energy to get that steampunk dress done. If I do, I think it'll be the last fancy dress I do for a while (besides my wedding dress of course).

    My need to share
Life has been steadily busy with the coming and going of Arisia.

Arisia, and other related displays of art. )

I hung out with Care the other night and saw Twilight, which I'll admit to having enjoyed. No, it wasn't some great movie, but it was cute. It was silly and sappy at times, but in a "teehee snort" way and not a "ug groan" way. And it was visually pretty, which is why I bothered to go see it in the theater.

I should do my taxes soon, and get them out of the way. I think I'm still waiting for some letter from my student loans, and another from my Health Insurance, though, before I can finish them.

Oh, and lastly, thanks Jack! For the Powerpuff Girls. :)

    10:53 am
So, since Staples stores have higher prices than their online printshop, but their online wouldn't have been fast enough unless I'd paid crazy shipping fees, I have less postcards, which I'm hand cutting to get the most out of every sheet. But I hand cut really well, so it's not an issue.

So I never actually read my Art Show acceptance e-mail, as I've been crazy this month, and missed the deadline for doing all my paperwork online (a new feature). So instead of having nicely printed sheets to go with each piece, I get to fill 'em out by hand when I get there today. Oh well. I've done that before.

Otherwise, after the hurdle of getting the postcards printed, I am much more relaxed. I have 4 hours in which to finish cutting the cards, frame one last piece, and pack the car up to leave. 4 hours is, in fact, plenty of time, so I'm very calm and cheerful. :) If only the rest of the house were awake so I could put on some happy music.

Well, see a bunch of you tonight! I'm still trying to decide whether or not to don my hoop skirt tonight, or wait til tomorrow...

    D'oh!
And why must the AGOH Event be during the Dr Horrible Sing Along? I know art is important to me, but hell, I'm not missing Dr Horrible. I'm at this con to have fun.

How about $2 a postcard? If this happens, that is. Is that too much to ask? And then $6 for all four, and more deals if you want a stack you actually plan to use? (Somehow I only anticipated selling them as pretty pictures but Dawn-Marie says she wants a stack to actually use for writing letters... people still do that!) Then I stand more of a chance of breaking even.

I should get back to my actual painting, though....

    23:29 pm
I have Sunday and Monday to finish my dragon scales, and then need to decide if I should get postcards printed for Arisia, to try selling. Would enough people buy a postcard for $1 (or four for $3) to make it worthwhile? I can get 100 cards for $20 at Staples, and they'd even have a UV coating (teh awesome), but I'm assuming they'd all have to be the same image. If I wanna get all four dragons printed, it'd add up to $80. I could do smaller quantities I'm assuming, but would the cost be worthwhile? I may stop by and ask for a quote. I'd be cool if I knew I'd sell enough to break even, and use the rest as outreach to publishers, etc.
I think Staples prints pretty quick, so if I do my image editing during the week I should be able to print 'em Friday morning before going to Artist check-in. Any thoughts, my readers? I think one thing holding me back is that, like everyone, I'm short on funds. I feel like I shouldn't spend much. I'm telling myself I'll buy certain things for myself at the con if I see them, as I haven't really treated myself to any material goods recently (except "Last Chance to See", OMG, amazing book and you all need to read it).

Currently looking through the con schedule. Who's great idea was it to schedule "Art: Marketing Your Work" and "Art: Making a Living in a Creative Field" at the same time?? I mean, really. I know it's unavoidable sometimes when two panels I want to see are at the same time, but usually they don't have anything to do with each other. This one is a conflict. And for Mercutio, "Costuming: Historical Accuracy in costuming" and "Costuming: Live Steel". I think those are related enough that they ought not be at the same time, too.
I am looking forward to seeing Repo. With a bunch of geeks. And The Eye of Argon reading.

Arisia isn't making me super excited this year. I think it's just 'cause I feel like I haven't done much new art to show. And I don't have a Steampunk dress for the Steampunk Ball. My dress plan that I've been building on paper for a year is currently planned to be finished by PiCon instead. I need to stop being all anxious and just have fun. I'm sure I will! I just need to remind myself that before I get there.

In other news, after two types of antibiotics and a new vet as I heard bad things about the old as well as not having liked them, Guen has a bladder stone and is on dissolution formula. If all goes well, she'll be cured in a month, otherwise we look into surgery. She's taking it well.
I've heard of artists being able to wrangle up pet bill funds by selling art through word-of-mouth. I'll try that method if I have to cross that bridge. I should get Paypal and an Etsy page.

    Thanks
Thanks everyone who replied to my last post.
Given the comments, and my own research, Merc and I are going to PetCo today to read the labels and look for better food for our cats. I know to look for low magnesium, low ash, and we're going to put them on a partial wet-food diet (possibly even mixing water into the wet food to make it soupier, and force more water intake). And we'll stop leaving as much dry food out, measuring out what they ought to eat. (currently leaning towards "Wellness Complete Health" I read about on Consumer Search)
I'm surprised the vet suggested the diet they did, as quickly as they did. I had been expecting the vet to suggest part wet-food, as water intake seems to be the biggest problem, followed by particular minerals and pH balance.
After a conversation last night, I also wonder if having gone to a vet on Mass ave in Cambridge, the vet may be used to a richer crowd. And it's not so much that I'm against paying four times as much for my cat food (my cats have never been expensive to care for, and the price balances better when combined with less food intake), I was just surprised by that particular recommendation and I wanted to know what all my options were. Especially knowing that the top two ingredients in the brand he recommended are rice and corn. If I'm going to pay four times as much, I'd rather it be good. 'Cause it looks like I'll be paying four times as much if I try this wet+dry plan.

It's funny, Heisenberg has no problem drinking water. He's always taking a stop at the water dish. Guen seemed offended when I just tried squishing some of her treats into a plate of water to get her to consume more.

My next question, anyone have a vet recommendation? Hopefully someplace not too difficult to get to.

    Cat owners
Do any of you take your cat to the vet yearly? I just take mine to Petco for their yearly shots. But when Guen got a UTI, I took her to the vet, and he recommends seeing cats twice a year, and for her to go on a prescription diet to prevent UTIs.
I've had a UTI before. I did not require any changes in my diet to help prevent future ones. Why should my cat go on this food? Especially when it costs about three or four times as much as what I feed them now, and she'd need to be on it for life. Apparently it's "very common" for cats to need a prescription diet. If this is so, how come there are so many brands of non-prescription food out there that are commonly used? And what do I do if my cat ever develops a second health issue that would need a different prescription diet? You don't just mix them. I asked if I could get some to mix in with what I currently feed them but that's not the way it works; they just get the prescription food (and on that note, why aren't there just dietary supplements you can add to their normal food that would be good for these problems?). And the vet has seen cats who have gone off the diet only to have the UTI return. But how does one UTI signify a lifelong problem she's going to need this diet for? Plus, none of the other cats in her family, to my knowledge (and I know who where all the rest of her family lives), have developed this problem, and many are older than her.
If I knew she really needed it, I'd get this food for her. But it just seems so strange that a vet would prescribe this after a single bout, and I want more opinions.

I can't help but make the comparison of last time I took my car in for having its check-engine light on. They told me what the codes meant, and which part seemed to be needing a replacement. But they said sometimes it just sets off the light due to environmental factors and doesn't actually need replacing, so they reset my check-engine light rather than recommend replacing the part right away, just in case it was a fluke, explaining I should obviously bring the car back in to get the part replaced if the light went on again.
If this is a chronic problem, clearly she needs the diet. But one time? Although obviously they made the point of the diet preventing the problem from occurring in the first place, so I wouldn't need another $250 vet bill again before deciding to go on the diet.
I guess I have another 2 weeks of her being on antibiotics before I really need to decide.

    Holy Crap...
The Illustration Master Class. I will attend this. Not in 2009 perhaps, maybe not soon, maybe not 'til after my wedding and I've started to save money again (it's close to $2000 to register), but I will attend this. Note to self.

Right now I'm planning to wait til the fall to do the other class, the one at SMFA. And "spring semester" I'll do the kind of stuff I'd originally planned to do this past year (before I got all excited with Val's dress). Stuff I've started on already, like painting faster and more efficiently. Trying to do some pieces laid out like book covers, and maybe a few more sequential pieces along the line of "Pursuing Inspiration". And that steampunk dress I have so many plans for.

What a crazy week. A few hours in the hospital with Steven after an allergy attack, and today taking Guenhwyvar in to the vet for a UTI (via the bus, having had to take time off work on a crazy day).
Otherwise I've been ultra lazy lately, which is good for me. But I feel like I waste my weekends. Like I need to be productive all the time. Really I need to get windows installed on my Mac so I can play Dreamfall and Myst III. I think they would be a much better way to spend a lazy weekend than the web. I feel less bad about sitting back and just reading. But the web sucks time...

Going to get back to finishing my dragon paintings soon.

There's a class I want to take on Illustrating Children's Books, but I need to figure out when to take it. If I take it in the Spring semester (if my folks are still willing to pay for it), the first class will fall during Arisia. So I either skip out all Saturday afternoon for that, or miss the first class. I think I may e-mail the teacher and ask how important the first class will be and explain the circumstance. Or I could just take it in the fall instead. I'm not in a hurry, I guess. I have other things I can do, obviously, that I don't have to take it right now. I do want to start getting a good portfolio together to send to publishing companies. Eventually. And this will mean doing more painting, which I can certainly get myself to do.

I'm uncertain whether or not I'll get access to an archival printer before Arisia. I've been toying with the idea of getting one and spending a little chunk of time preparing my then-completed dragon paintings for prints to bring to Arisia. But after the vet bill and my impending car repairs before getting it inspected in December.... it seems like it won't happen. There's always other cons, and other Arisias, obviously. I did a good job not stressing about wanting to sell things last year, but I had my pretty new dress to dance around in, and I'm not sewing one for this year (decision I made so I wouldn't go crazy). A part of me is just fine with sitting back and letting things go as they go, but this other part of me is always saying I won't go anywhere unless I get on it. Now. Time's a-wastin'.

I dunno, I'm just musing "aloud" and blundering through my cluttered mind.

    --------

For those of you who haven't seen yet, I posted some new stuff to my website over the past few months. Namely my friend's wedding dress, and a self-portrait I recently did to get a better feel for oil paints.

What else have I done recently? Reading a lot of good british authors. Mostly Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, and planning to order a copy of Douglas Adams' "Last Chance To See".

    Looking for Computer Advice
I am buying a new computer. I'll be getting a MiniMac (2Gh Intel Core, 2GB RAM). I would like some opinions.

I'm trying to decide whether or not to get the Apple Protection Plan. It's my manager's opinion that I could go either way. He has it because he has a laptop that he bikes with. But it's likely to be less necessary for me. Should I bother dropping the extra $150?
I'm pretty much going to be using my computer to browse the web, listen to audio books, do some graphical work, print artwork, burn CDs, and play a few windows games via Boot Camp. No crazy overclocking or anything.

Would it really be "more better" to not bother upgrading the 80gb HD to 120gb for $50 and get an external HD instead? (another manager's suggestion) I like having my data on hand when I want it rather than needing to mount something else. What's the likely-hood of the Mac's internal HD dying and causing me to lose stuff I could have had on an external? Plus, I still intend to keep my Linux box around and networked with its current storage for a while.

I'm also looking for a good monitor. I understand LCDs are just as good for graphics these days, and even better on the eyes possibly? I'm looking for a 20"ish monitor in the $200-$250 range. But I feel like I don't know what I should be looking for in a monitor. I think I don't want a widescreen though...

Any thoughts on benefits of buying my computer at the local Mac store, or just getting it online? Likewise, any thoughts on ordering a monitor online, or buying local?

I have a hard time spending large amounts of money, even on things I want/need.
I still need to get around to getting a dressform too, although my problem there is that of all the reviews I've read, the one that I think would be best for me had a bad review of the post going through the neck. I half think that if it were a solvable problem I'd just repair/reinforce it somehow. But I'll be putting heavy things on it....

A combination of not having anything monumental to say, as well as not feeling like spending the time to say anything, plus being "busy" relaxing and winding down, along with not having bothered updating my webpage.... has kept me from posting here.
But I totally follow my own rule by having art to post this time. Because I updated my webpage. Check it out!

I had a delightful time at Arisia this year. I didn't worry about trying to sell art, which helped (although it would have been nice if something sold). I'm glad I made a decision to stop going crazy over my paintings and make my new dress. It was a stress all on its own, and took way longer to complete than I'd imagined it would, but it turned out. There are parts I'd like to fix, but don't know if I ever will.
I attended fun panels, got to see the Buffy Musical, got to dance! in my fabulous ballgown, won awards for both my gown and my art (good for my self confidence), and smiled a bunch. The extended weekend worked out reasonably well, I think. Monday seemed mostly useless, but the extension of Sunday made a big difference.

I visited Maryland in the beginning of February with Mercutio. I really, really... really needed the vacation. I sat around, I read books, I slept in super late, I played games, and generally didn't do anything productive. I came home with a terrible leg cramp from the car ride, but oh what a week.

I tried to start out my next month doing nothing but playing videogames and reading. The reading worked, but the only games I want to play won't work unless I get a better computer... so they'll wait.

And I've started painting big and fast. Well, start as in I did two, and I have a good way to go until this really helps my regular painting, but it's a good step. I take way too long to paint something really teeeny. And I'm not using the full potential of oil paints. I'm teaching myself to lay down better underpaintings, fast, and bigger. I don't let myself use a small brush, only big! I wouldn't call them nice finished works, but this will work to my benefit..... soon. And you can see 'em on my webpage.

So now I've got a handful of projects all floating around my head to get out (it makes it hard to fall asleep sometimes). I have painting practice to do, eventual completion of my stuffed dragon paintings, new pants for myself, a dress for a friend, ideas for my next hoopskirt dress, and, pants for friends. Why do I let myself have so many projects? Well, most of this has no deadline. Stuff to do in the next year. But a year seems so short these days... Speaking of pants for friends, I have a handful who want some. If you want some, too, get in line.

    Is it bedtime yet?
    Dear Friends,
So! I've gotten together my stuff for the Arisia art show. I'll be showing my four newest pieces in their incomplete state, but framed, and Not For Sale. Oy, they need a title... I'll be showing my three prints from "Pursuing Inspiration", with copies for sale. I'll show my stuffed animal still life. But that leaves me with an awkward slice to fill still.
Which other piece should I show at Arisia?
Girl & Dragon, Matthew, or "A Season Turned"

P.S. Who wants to go see Persepolis with me after Arisia?

Musings. Expression. Getting it out there.
No new pictures of art, 'cause my computer's still out of commission. But I'm definitely painting!

I've currently resigned myself to not finishing my series of four before Arisia.  I'll frame them and show them as works in progress, almost completed, but I wasn't planning on selling them this year anyways (mostly due to the inconvenience of them not being varnishable for a while).  So while weighing the importance of things-to-do-with-my-time, and taking into consideration that Arisia is supposed to be fun, I've come to the conclusion that I will have more fun if I sew myself at least one of the dresses I was planning, rather than stress over the paintings.
They'll be close to done.  Infact, most people probably won't really notice (or at least I'll just keep telling myself that, given that people seem to think they're done *now* and yet I've barely begun the dragons scales!).

Who knows, if the first dress goes quickly, I may even still do the second one.  But I won't hold too many hopes.  I only want to complete the dragon scales at this point (at least one of the backgrounds is only roughed in, another still needing some touchup, and a handful of the stuffed dragons still needing to be fluffed up more), but I keep underestimating how long they'll take.  I've got what.. 7 weeks? Two for each dress and three to scale the rest of the dragons?  But I forget to take into account random evenings in which I have a headache, or otherwise don't end up painting (it *is* good to have a relaxing evening reading now and then).  Whatever happens, I'll have fun at Arisia.

After Arisia, I will go clothing shopping.  Sew another dress if I don't finish the second one I'm planning before Arisia.  Take a small vacation in Maryland.  Sew myself some more clothes.  And then take a few commissions for clothes from a couple friends who have expressed interest.  And at some point maybe poke some t-shirt design ideas.

Where am I?  Running around a bit.  I have been finding the time to paint (an out of date sneak peek of my current works in progress is on my website, I'll try and update the capture, soon), to read, and see some friends.
The heat has been getting to me.  I'm all bleh halfway into my morning walk.
The kittens are as cute as ever.
And my computer is broken.  Again.  CPU fan this time.  At least an easy to replace part.  And inexpensive.  Still, that urge to get a minimac is upon me (I may play upon my current painting series as a t-shirt design for Threadless when I can find the time/energy).  But really, I don't use the computer much.  I read webcomics in the morning, and I check e-mail a couple times a day, and in the evening, I use it as a way to unwind from my day, watching silly videos on You Tube or something.  I use it to play music, and audio books.  And it is my source for reference material for my paintings on a semi-regular basis.  I just need it to be there when I want it.
I feel like time is still passing me by quickly.  Weddings all over the place, and me just wanting to find more time to paint, and get a jump on that prospective art career of mine.  I'd like to sew another dress for Arisia, too, but I think I won't worry about that 'til after Halloween.  Last year that wasn't a problem, and this year I won't have a corset and hoop skirt to make.
Speaking of Halloween, consider this an in-advance warning that I'm hosting a party once again, this year.  Last year nothing happened, and I felt at a loss, and I decided then that I'd have a party this year.  The old house rule applies.  No costume, and you have to have your photo taken while wearing the one-size-fits-all barwench dress from Walmart (anybody who <i>does</i> have a costume is still allowed to partake of this custom).  And nobody is allowed to take it into the woods, or anywhere else, for sex this year.

I am excited to start painting this weekend. My new dragons arrived, I have my sketches done (except for fully deciding on the surface texture, essentially, of the backgrounds), my masonite cut (by hand! Hah!), and whatnot. Now I just need to transfer my oulines.

I took videos of the Zombies yesterday. Let me know if you're interested in seeing them, and I'll send you a link.
I should take videos of the kittens. Sometimes they're doing something so cute that I can't get a photo that would truly show the cuteness. But I forget my camera can take video, I think.

Guards Guards! was fun to see. I wonder if Pandemonium will host plays on a regular basis? I'm still hoping someone will get on top of organizing art displays.

The chance of me making it to Nova Scotia this year seems unlikely now. But this means more planning (and saving) time for next year. And less money stressing. I suppose I should still make an effort to get my passport, though. Just so I have it.

Dragons and Zombies and Art, Oh My!
I'm trying to decide if I can afford another $20 for a couple more dragons. I have my sketches done, but two have blank spots in them, that I really don't want to duplicate an already used dragon in. I should be able to start painting this weekend. I'm excited.

There's zombie-ing going on Saturday. I'll still be at work when it begins, but if I skeedaddle off to Harvard Sq when I clock out, I should be able to at least catch the tail end of it (depending just how slow they move).

I'm watching a production of Guards Guards! this Thursday. Should prove fun.

I meandered through the Somerville Open Studios this past Sunday. It was good for me. Got me out, walking around, seeing art. I saw a lot of stuff I didn't like, but witnessed people liking it. My favorite things to see: Hilary Scott's house. I want to live in a house that fun, when I am a parent. Mine will not have sculpture, but be painted. The Museum of Modern Rennaissance. Quite a sight to see. Impressive. Ann Hirsch's sculptures. Creepy and beautiful. And Matt Brackett's paintings. I'm a sucker for paintings detailed enough to almost be photos.

I have a dentist appt, soon, for the first time in what must be almost two years. I'm a-scared, but looking forward to having it over with.

I'm finally getting on top of getting my Canadian Passport. Luckly, Canadians residing in the US can have US sized photos, providing they fit the other criteria.
